June 2005 Don successfully completed the Basic Emergency Management Trainers Course- Emergency Management Ontario.

After the course Don instructed Basic Emergency Management at Mohawk College for several years.

December 2012 Don attended the Centre for Police Organizational Studies in San Diego California, successfully completing the “Special Events Management Course” for Law Enforcement and Special Event Officials.

Don then developed and instructed the Special Events Security Planning Course at Mohawk College.

Since 2013 Don has worked with various security companies supplying security to large scale concerts, festivals, and sporting events in Ontario.  Don has been involved in the management and supervision of over 500 concerts and events at the largest entertainment venues in Ontario

2016- SurVail Protection Services was launched, and later was incorporated

in 2020 to become SurVail Protection and Investigation Services Inc.

Some of Don’s Experience achievements:

1982-1991- Don became one of two security co-directors on the executive committee of the Wayne Gretzky Sports Classic. Responsibilities included the development and management of all aspects of security for the annual event that was attended by up to 40,000 patrons. Over 100 Celebrities from television, movies and sports took part in competitive events including tennis and baseball.  

Beginning in 1972 Don has attained over 42 years experience  in the Justice, Protection and Security Training sectors.

 2003-2016- Don was employed by Mohawk College as a faculty/ program coordinator, in the Protection Security and Investigation Program within the Justice Studies Sector. He hired over 300 students of the Mohawk Justice Sector to work alongside him at numerous security related events. Don considered these Mohawk students amongst the best trained guards in the Ontario Security Industry.
